We had a great experience working with Douglas DeRuyter! Our options were definitely limited financially, being in a very competitive market in Grand Rapids, but Doug still found a way to keep us in high spirits/motivated with the low inventory that exists in our price bracket. Good job there in not having us settle though we came close once. I will admit I got quite frustrated with the price of real estate in GR versus where we currently are, but it's a very different time to buy now than when we did on our current home. If I had to offer some critique it would be in more communication between our mortgage lender/bank, Doug, and myself so that we were on the same page with all the numbers floating around. There were times where this wasn't always the case, being three parties and I had to ask questions of both to clarify things and keep moving forward through the underwriting phase especially. Overally though, Doug was prompt and answered all our questions in a timely manner when we had them. We even got to laugh a bit going through several houses that still had old pencil sharpeners installed in weird places! That was fun. I would definitely recommend Douglas DeRuyter as a realtor.

Doug made our entire buying experience so easy and enjoyable (which is extremely hard to do in todays market). Doug worked very hard to find us our dream home and made sure we had a pleasant experience while doing so. His work ethic is exceptional and his love for real estate is obvious in every interaction we had with him.
